Executive Summary
The National Coalition for Gender Justice in Health Policy (NCGJHP) and allies submitted comments in response to the Senate Finance Committee’s Request for Information on Health Coverage That Works for Everyone. NCGJHP is a cross-movement collective of over 110 organizations fighting for equitable access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) coverage for low-income and underserved communities via Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and federal health care reform. As our comments detail, any reforms to health coverage should be targeted at addressing inequities in SRH coverage and access, including gender-affirming care coverage and access, and ensuring that all people, especially low-income and underserved individuals and families, are able to access the highest standard of SRH care.
