Executive Summary
The final Section 1557 regulation was recently released by the Office for Civil Rights. Implementing Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, the rule prohibits discrimination in healthcare based on race, ethnicity, language, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity. NHeLP staff will provide an overview of what’s in the final regulation as well as what advocates and health care providers need to know to prevent discrimination.
