Executive Summary
NHeLP submitted comments in response to HHS’s Request for Information (RFI) regarding the categories used in the vaccine classification and recommendation system. In these comments, NHeLP opposes any changes to the classification system that allow HHS to downgrade vaccine recommendations, creating confusion, increasing vaccine hesitancy, and endangering public health. NHeLP urges HHS to retract past actions that have weakened access to vaccines through the imposition of measures not supported by science and the best available evidence, and to refrain from expanding the use of the “shared clinical decision-making” category for vaccines that have been widely proven to be safe and effective.
