Executive Summary
The National Health Law Program submits comments in opposition to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services decision to remove voluntary racial, ethnic, and sexual orientation and gender identity data questions from the Model Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Individual Enrollment Request Form, as well as the decision to no longer provide translated versions of the Model form. For over fifty-five years, we have litigated, advocated, and educated at the federal and state levels to advance health and civil rights in the United States, and thus strongly oppose the removal of demographic data collection and translated materials.
