Executive Summary

In a news series of fact sheets called Protect Medicaid Funding, NHeLP provides succinct analysis of the policy proposals that if enacted would jeopardize the the health and financial security of the tens of millions of low income individuals who depend on the Medicaid guarantee every year. In this first fact sheet, NHeLP explains how children’s health would be adversely impacted by proposals to cut or cap funding of Medicaid. This piece was updated in June 2017 with personal stories from families in Texas and California, and to reference current efforts in Congress to cut Medicaid funding.
