NHeLP Statement to U.S. Senate Finance Committee on Graham-Cassidy Proposal

Executive Summary

NHeLP submitted a statement for the record to the U.S. Senate Committee On Finance for its Sept. 25 “Hearing to Consider the Graham-Cassidy-Heller-Johnson Proposal (Graham-Cassidy).” NHeLP’s statement includes personal stories of individuals and families who have have benefited from the health care coverage of the Affordable Care Act, its expansion of Medicaid, and Medicaid in general. “Any legislation that fundamentally restructures Medicaid will have profound effects not only on the 74  million individuals currently covered, but also on the hospitals, community health centers, managed care plans, nursing facilities, group homes and other providers that serve them, as well as the states and counties and communities in which they live.”
