Executive Summary

This issue of Health Advocate provides NHeLP’s annual summary of some of the year’s notable court cases. The Supreme Court decided yet another case involving the Affordable Care Act, and it issued a ruling that has sharply curtailed health care providers’ ability to obtain court orders requiring state Medicaid agencies to set adequate payment rates. As discussed below, federal appellate courts also announced notable decisions affecting Medicaid and public health.
