Executive Summary
The National Coalition for Gender Justice in Health Policy sent a second letter to the 119th Congress opposing Medicaid cuts, such as per capita caps, work requirements, Federal Medical Assistance Percentage cuts, provider tax restrictions, eligibility verifications, rule repeals, further immigrant eligibility restrictions, retroactive coverage, restrictions on transgender care for minors, or provider exclusions (e.g., “defunding” Planned Parenthood health centers). The letter, endorsed by over 130 organizations, highlighted how the cuts will exacerbate the maternal mortality crisis and hurt children and families.
