Executive Summary
Medicaid is an important lifeline for the 25 million women enrolled in the program. Women of color, women with disabilities, single mothers, and women from other underserved populations disproportionately depend on Medicaid for affordable health care coverage. In this fact sheet, the National Health Law Program along with All* Above All, National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum, National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, and In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda address how the Trump administration’s misuse of Section 1115 Medicaid demonstration projects harm the health of women of color.
