CMS Highlights State Policies to Improve Access to Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptive Methods

Executive Summary

The Maternal and Infant Health Initiative, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued an Informational Bulletin highlighting state payment policies aimed at making long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) methods more available. This NHeLP Issue Brief provides an overview on barriers to access; promising state policies and practices; and further steps to ensure Medicaid enrollees have timely access.
