Cassandra LaRose is a staff attorney at our North Carolina office, working on the National Health Law Program’s efforts regarding fairness and equity in automated decision-making such as algorithms.
Before joining NHeLP, Cassandra held several positions promoting public health at organizations such as Reproductive Equity Now, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, All Voting is Local, and Brady United Against Gun Violence. She has worked on a range of issues including reproductive rights and justice, gun violence prevention, voting rights, and pandemic health equity.
Cassandra holds an MPH in Urban Health from Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences; a JD with concentrations in Health Law and Policy, and Poverty Law and Economic Justice from Northeastern University School of Law; and a BS in Bioengineering from the University of Maine. Her work to advance healthcare access and equity is informed by her understanding of public health, the law, and medical technology.
When she is not fighting for justice, Cassandra knits some of her own clothing. She also enjoys spending time with her dog, Phoebe, and her cat, Dobby.
