The National Health Law Program filed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to uphold the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive coverage requirement. The amicus brief describes the medical evidence that contraception is essential preventative care for women and explained how the ACA’s requirement built on prior laws and policies requiring coverage of preventive contraceptive counseling, services, and supplies.
