Executive Summary

House Republicans are pushing their “American Health Care Act,” as a replacement and reform of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). As NHeLP Managing Attorney of the DC office Mara Youdelman details in this fact sheet, the Republicans’ measure would “effectively end the Medicaid expansion category by reducing federal funding, preventing states from expanding Medicaid after January 1, 2020, or barring states from continuing to receive the enhanced federal payments for these enrollees.”
