The National Health Law Program and the Northern Justice Project filed an amicus brief in support of Planned Parenthood, urging the Alaska Supreme Court to enjoin a state law that limited abortion coverage for Medicaid-eligible women in Alaska based on an extremely narrow definition of medical necessity.
The amicus brief provides a detailed description of other states’ medical necessity definitions to show that Alaska’s law was an outlier.
