Executive Summary
Advocates and state Medicaid agencies face a rapid implementation timeline for Medicaid work requirements established by the so-called One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). For the Medicaid expansion group, this also includes more frequent eligibility redeterminations coupled with regular compliance checks, increasing administrative burden and risk of erroneous coverage loss. While there are many unknowns, in an attempt to mitigate harm, advocates can still create a plan to monitor implementation of work requirements over the next year. This document breaks down potential advocacy activities into 3-month time periods and hyperlinks to relevant resources that provide more details about the recommendations.
