Inside Health Policy: Medicaid Directors Urge CMS to Stagger Medicaid Managed Care Changes

The National Association of Medicaid Directors is urging CMS to stagger implementation of the major provisions in the proposed Medicaid managed care regulation and wants more state flexibility in several areas.

The wide-ranging proposed Medicaid managed care regulation marks the first time CMS has proposed changes to Medicaid managed care rules since the program was created more than a decade ago.The proposal includes a national medical loss ratio that worries Medicaid managed care plans; network adequacy standards supported by the National Health Law Program; and alignment of managed care programs with Medicare and private exchange plans, which Medicaid directors support for certain situations. Read the full article here. »
