Lupe Castañeda is the National Health Law Program’s (NHeLP) Finance Director based in its Washington, D.C. office. She has over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector overseeing fiscal management teams and establishing the organization’s financial resilience. Through a shared vision, she has been able to promote an inclusive culture of financial data that supports and promotes financial stability expressed through an organization’s values, practices, and resources.
Previously, Lupe worked in non-profit higher education universities and two non-profit organizations specializing in low-income housing and child welfare. Within these capacities, she served in various roles within the central business offices of accounting, finance, compliance, and audit.
She is recognized as an empowering leader, cultivating relationships with executives and diverse stakeholders to coordinate financial aspects of strategic initiatives and program objectives.
Lupe received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and E-Commerce from DePaul University in Chicago, IL, and a Master of Science in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Originally from Chicago, IL, she resides with her family in the Tampa Bay Area.
