Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy Associate

Anona Neal is a Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy Associate with the National Health Law Program. Anona provides programmatic, policy, and administrative support to NHeLP’s Sexual and Reproductive Health team.

Before joining the National Health Law Program, Anona was a Communications Fellow with Progress Florida, managing communications for the Floridians for Reproductive Freedom Coalition consisting of 85 non-profit organizations. Previously, Anona organized with her local abortion fund, Florida Access Network, to help more people access care in the state following the implementation of the 6-week abortion ban.

Anona holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology & Policy Analysis from Rice University. She began her career at Girls Inc. of Greater Houston where she developed a deep commitment to ensuring everyone has access to healthcare, comprehensive sex education and the ability to make informed decisions about their bodies and well-being. Anona’s work took her to the Center for American Progress where she conducted policy research primarily focused on advancing women’s economic security and implementing anti-poverty measures.

Outside of work, Anona loves to explore the world around her, and you can usually find her on a long walk, moving very slowly through an art museum, or trying new foods she learned about on TikTok. Anona’s ideal night involves cooking and watching movies with friends and family, but her ultimate comfort is a long afternoon nap.
