Webinar: Public Charge and Reproductive Justice Administrative Advocacy

Executive Summary

This webinar from the Medicaid and Reproductive Justice Collaborative addressed administrative advocacy and how reproductive justice advocates can engage with the rulemaking process. The previous Administration’s crusade to expand the public charge rule was designed to sow fear, reap reproductive injustice, and damage the health and economic stability of immigrant Black, Latina/x, and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) people, families, and communities. Now, the Biden Administration is considering new changes to public charge and we have a chance to make our voices heard. The webinar will serve as a training to learn more about the history of public charge from a reproductive justice perspective, demystify the regulatory process, and specific opportunities for administrative advocacy related to the public charge rule.

This webinar featured Medicaid and Reproductive Justice Collaborative members Lucie Arvallo (National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice), Priscilla Huang (National Health Law Program), and Phoebe Suva (National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum).
