Los Angeles, CA – In commemoration of our 50th anniversary, the National Health Law Program is pleased to present California Attorney General Xavier Becerra with the inaugural Henry Waxman Award for Health Care Advocacy. The award is named in honor of Henry Waxman, a fearless legislator who has spent his career fighting to protect and improve access to quality health care for low-income people, first in the California legislature and then in Congress as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing California’s 33rd Congressional District.
We are privileged to recognize Attorney General Becerra for his tireless work in protecting low-income individuals and families, immigrants, health care, the environment, and the LGBTQ community.
