Communications Coordinator

Georgesula Ziama is the Communications Coordinator at the National Health Law Program’s DC office, where she collaborates with the Communications team and staff partners to implement strategic communications priorities aimed at amplifying the organization’s efforts to protect and expand access to health care for low-income and historically underserved communities. With her creative approach and excellent organizational skills, Georgesula is passionate about advancing the mission and values of the National Health Law Program through effective communication strategies.

In March 2020, Georgesula joined NHeLP as the communications project lead for the My Care Counts campaign, a grant project that engaged the public in administrative advocacy to protect and expand health rights across the country. Leveraging her advocacy experience, she utilized digital media to empower and activate stakeholders in protecting Medicaid.

Georgesula is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Management at the University of Delaware. Her previous work includes coordinating outreach and resident engagement for health initiatives in Palm Beach County, Florida, leading fundraising campaigns for a nonprofit in Charlotte, NC, and doing digital marketing and content creation for various small businesses and organizations. She earned her B.A. in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Originally from North Carolina, Georgesula enjoys writing and playing music, and she is proficient in playing four different instruments.
