Principles for Reproductive Health in Delivery System and Payment Reform

Executive Summary

Public-and-private health systems are moving to reform how care is delivered and financed. Improving women’s health care and outcomes should be a priority as new payment and care delivery models are designed, implemented and evaluated. A new set of principles drafted by national provider and advocacy groups, including NHeLP, is intended to guide transformation so that it results in a seamless system that meets the full range of women’s health needs. These principles are organized around five core topics: patient and provider engagement, access to care, access to providers, patient safeguards, and payments and investments.
