Fighting for Health Rights for All
Attorneys litigating in state and federal courts and policy advocates fighting to advance access to quality health care for low-income and underserved individuals.
Founded in 1969, the National Health Law Program is leading a noble endeavor to secure health rights for all people. Join us as we celebrate our 50th anniversary and collectively work for a better future.
Advocates for Medicaid
For 50 years, the National Health Law Program has defended the integrity of Medicaid by championing the rights of beneficiaries, enforcing the law through litigation, and advocating for federal and state policies that meet the needs of low-income individuals and families.
Litigating Aggressively for Low-Income People
Our litigation team protects progressive health care policies through litigation in state and federal courts. We defend the nation’s health care safety net for those most in need and those with the fewest resources.
Building On a Legacy of Civil Rights
Much of our litigation work is rooted in the legacy of civil rights law. Our ability to fight for access to health care for all relies on the precedent that the government cannot discriminate against individuals because of their race, ethnicity, gender, or country of origin.
Reproductive & Sexual Health
The National Health Law Program fights every day for reproductive and sexual health. We recognize the injustice of lawmakers imposing their beliefs on the liberty of women seeking access to health care coverage.
Celebrating 50 Years
The National Health Law Program is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019. We look forward to commemorating our work and impact over this last half-century and imagining the progress that can be made in the next.
Leading the Way in California
The National Health Law Program advocates for progressive California health care policy, including litigation involving Medicaid eligibility and services, managed health care delivery system issues, health reform implementation, and reproductive health.
